We’re looking for an enthusiastic Senior Android developer who will form part of a versatile team of designers, strategists, and engineers to assist on multiple projects. You’ll work on native Android apps for world-class brands, contributing to projects that combine user-centred design, creative storytelling, and engineering excellence. Hybrid working – Although with an expectation that, on average, a couple of days in the office per week may be needed.
Skills/ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Android Developer at Brandwidth, you will:
- Develop high-quality native Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product strategists, and backend engineers to create seamless and intuitive user experiences.
- Be accountable for the quality of the work produced and the accuracy of the provided time estimates.
- Contribute to technical architecture discussions and participate in the full product lifecycle from discovery to deployment.
- Test, debug, and ensure elevated code quality within engineering pipelines.
- Participate in sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives in an Agile environment.
- Take an active role in investigating the issue.
- Provide technical feedback.
- Communicate with the different teams of the company and client representatives, understand and respond to the development briefs.
- Take part in defining the solution architecture, choice of technology stack and development approach, deployment tasks, and regular R&D activities.
- Some robust experience in native Kotlin-based Android development.
- Working knowledge of version control using Git.
- Experience working both as a solo developer and in a team environment.
- A commitment to learning new skills and approaches to writing code through skills sharing and self-learning.
- Experience using RESTful web services.
- Experience working with Jetpack Compose.
- Experience working in an agency or consultancy environment.
- Experience with real-time features, mapping interfaces, transport or automotive projects.
