About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to get involved at a crucial stage of development for a leading intellectual property focused law firm.
Responsibilities
- Work within a growing commercial team with a sector focus on Sport, Media and Entertainment and Retail.
- Handle mid-level matters, collaborating within the team and working independently as required.
- Lead and supervise junior members of the team where needed.
- Develop your own client relationships, support business development initiatives and help drive the growth of the team and the wider firm.
- Participate in secondment opportunities with our client base as required from time to time.
- Work closely with a number of in-house legal teams.
- Exercise autonomy and engage in business development, client meetings and high-quality work from the start.
- Progress based on merit with a clear path to promotion for the right candidate.
Qualifications
- Mid-level non-contentious solicitor with a particular interest in intellectual property and commercial legal work.
- Top-class legal, technical and soft skills, with experience in the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts.
- Specific experience in contracts with intellectual property and data protection aspects, such as IP licensing, software, franchising, and data processing agreements.
- Familiarity with GDPR, data compliance matters and broader data strategy issues.
- Experience working in the technology space and advising on large-scale commercial transactions.
- Ability to identify relevant intellectual property rights and devise ways for businesses to protect, exploit and enforce them.
- In-house experience is beneficial but not essential.
