Appointments and healthcare visits, travel training and building independence, supporting people to attend work, education or volunteering, maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment, emotional support and companionship, personal care and daily living support, driving is a key part of this role. You will support people to access the community, attend activities, appointments, day services, and enjoy meaningful experiences. A full UK driving licence is essential. This role includes 1-to-1 support, community support, supported living, and personal care responsibilities. You’ll work closely with individuals to promote independence, dignity, wellbeing, inclusion, and choice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality person‑centred care and support
- Support adults with autism and learning disabilities
- Assist with personal care including washing, dressing, and hygiene support
- Help with medication support and health‑related appointments
- Support independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping
- Encourage social inclusion, confidence, and community participation
- Drive service users safely to activities, appointments, and outings
- Build positive relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues
- Follow care plans, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety guidance
