Base Location: Clevedon (The service currently operates as an outreach model, so this role involves travelling around the local area.) Drivers are essential due to the travel required.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Children's Project Leader to join our Clevedon team, supporting children and young people aged 5–18. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their childcare career, combining hands-on support with leadership responsibilities. The purpose of this role is to provide high-quality, child-centred support that respects each child's views, wishes, and individuality. As a Children's Project Leader, you'll lead by example, ensuring children feel safe, valued, listened to, and supported to achieve their goals and aspirations. You'll also play an important role in guiding and developing colleagues, helping to maintain excellent standards of care across the service. Support is delivered in community and home settings and includes helping children access education, develop independence skills, engage in meaningful activities, and build positive relationships. Activities may range from community outings and social events to sensory activities, arts and crafts, and life-skills development. Some children access 24-hour overnight support, so the role may include supporting with personal care, medication, and wellbeing needs. Full training will be provided.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing personalised support tailored to each child's needs, preferences, and goals
- Promoting independence, confidence, and life-skill development
- Supporting children with daily living tasks including personal care, meals, medication, education, and routines
- Planning and delivering meaningful activities that support development and wellbeing
- Supporting children to access their local community and social opportunities
- Building positive relationships with children, families, social workers, health professionals, and other stakeholders
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with safeguarding and regulatory requirements
- Supporting, coaching, and mentoring Support Workers to deliver high-quality care
- Contributing to team meetings, quality improvements, audits, and inspections
Support is provided across a 7-day rota, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts.
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children and young people in a care, support, or childcare setting
- A caring, patient, and child-focused approach
- Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills
- The ability to support and develop colleagues within a team environment
- Reliability, resilience, and flexibility
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes for children
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- A Level 3 Childcare qualification or willingness to work towards one
