Salary: £12.71 – 12.87

hours per week - this could be shared across 2 Support Workers.

About the role

As a Support Worker you will assist in the day-to-day supervision within specific projects or services. You will promote skills, knowledge and wellbeing by providing excellent support to individuals and groups of people that enables them to achieve shared and individual outcomes through joint enterprise. You will be assigned to a specific project or service; this may change from time to time.

The Splinters woodwork project provides services for people with learning disabilities and autistic people based at Elm Tree Farm, providing an opportunity for training and wellbeing outcomes. To achieve these outcomes, you will assist to plan, organise, direct and co-ordinate activities, and engage the people we support in all aspects of woodwork and upcycling.

You will create a safe and enjoyable environment and provide structured sessions to enable people to achieve their desired outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the projectleader in the day to day running of the woodwork and the planned activities for the day, to include:
  • Working alongside and assisting the people wesupport to create items from wood and work towards their chosen outcomes.
  • PPE checks, H&S checks and tool inventories.
  • Working collaboratively with the people wesupport to identify their strengths and areas for progression.
  • To work with the people, wesupport to produce our enterprise stock and develop ideas for new woodwork products
  • Demonstrate skill and precision in woodworking techniques and tool use.
  • Help to plan, manage and deliver woodworking projects to specification alongside our co-farmers.
  • Maintain the wood workshop and farm environment, keeping a tidy workplace and making small repairs to infrastructure and or tools as required/appropriate.
