A long-established, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their London team. This opportunity would suit a Project Manager who enjoys working across a broad range of sectors and values technical quality alongside commercial delivery. The successful Project Manager will become part of a well-integrated consultancy where the Project Manager works closely with colleagues across Project Management, Cost Consultancy, Building Surveying and Engineering disciplines.
With a strong pipeline of work across both public and private sector clients, this consultancy continues to grow its Project Management offering in London. As a result, they are looking to appoint a Project Manager who can take ownership of projects and play a key role in delivering consistent, high-quality outcomes for clients.
The Project Manager Role
The appointed Project Manager will be responsible for delivering projects across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare and mixed-use developments. Projects range from smaller commissions through to larger, more complex schemes, offering the Project Manager a varied and engaging workload. This role provides the Project Manager with strong support from senior colleagues, while also offering autonomy, client exposure and clear long-term progression within a stable and well-regarded consultancy.
Duties
- Leading the day-to-day delivery of projects as the appointed Project Manager
- Managing projects from initial instruction through feasibility, design, procurement, construction and handover
- Coordinating and managing multi-disciplinary consultant teams
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining strong professional relationships
- Managing project programmes, risk registers and reporting requirements
- Overseeing design development to ensure compliance with client briefs and statutory requirements
- Chairing project, design team and site meetings, issuing actions and driving progress
- Administering building contracts and consultant appointments
- Monitoring contractor performance against programme, cost and quality benchmarks
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual, regulatory and internal standards
The Person
The successful Project Manager will have a consultancy or client-facing background and will be comfortable working across multiple projects. Proven experience working as a Project Manager within a construction consultancy. Experience delivering projects across a range of sectors. Strong organisational and communication skills. A good understanding of construction processes and project delivery. The confidence to manage consultants, contractors and client expectations. A proactive, professional and team-oriented approach. Working towards, or already holding, a relevant professional qualification such as RICS or APM.
