A growing construction consultancy in Hertfordshire is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with more than five years' project management experience to take ownership of complex schemes, with healthcare experience particularly desirable.

The Senior Project Manager will lead projects from inception through to completion, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and wider stakeholder groups. This role would suit a confident individual who can manage multidisciplinary teams, maintain strong client relationships, and deliver projects with limited supervision. The successful candidate will join a collaborative consultancy with a strong pipeline of work and genuine opportunities for progression. You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

The Senior Project Manager's role

The Senior Project Manager will take responsibility for delivering a range of projects, with a strong focus on healthcare schemes and other complex built environment work. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing programme, procurement, consultant coordination, contract administration, risk, change control, project reporting, and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Chairing meetings, monitoring contractor performance, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Managing phasing, access, stakeholder communication, and operational constraints carefully where projects are delivered in live healthcare environments.

The successful Senior Project Manager will have:

  • More than five years' project management experience.
  • Prior experience working within a construction consultancy.
  • Healthcare project experience would be highly beneficial.
  • Experience leading projects from inception through to completion.
  • A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or progress towards a relevant professional qualification.
  • Good knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
  • A proactive, organised, and commercially aware approach.
