A growing construction consultancy in Hertfordshire is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join its expanding healthcare team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager with construction consultancy experience to build their career while working on a strong pipeline of healthcare projects.
The Assistant Project Manager will support senior colleagues with the delivery of healthcare schemes from inception through to completion. This role would suit an organised and ambitious individual who is comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and wants to gain greater responsibility on complex projects. The successful candidate will join a supportive team with excellent opportunities to develop their technical, contractual, and client-facing skills.
The Assistant Project Manager will support the delivery of healthcare projects across Hertfordshire and the surrounding region, including projects within live and operational environments. They will assist with:
- Programme management
- Consultant coordination
- Procurement support
- Contract administration
- Project reporting
- Risk management
- Stakeholder communication
They will attend client and site meetings, monitor project actions, maintain project documentation, and liaise with consultants and contractors throughout the project lifecycle. As their experience develops, the Assistant Project Manager will take on greater ownership of project workstreams and smaller commissions while continuing to receive support from experienced senior colleagues.
The successful Assistant Project Manager will have:
- Prior experience working within a construction consultancy environment
- Experience supporting healthcare or similar complex projects
- Experience working in live operational environments would be beneficial
- A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
- Progress towards MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or another relevant professional qualification
- A good understanding of JCT contracts and construction project delivery
- Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
- A professional and proactive approach to project delivery
In return, the position offers a salary of £35,000 - £45,000, pension contribution, professional membership support, APC and chartership support, strong healthcare project exposure, increasing project responsibility, clear progression to Project Manager, and a supportive Hertfordshire consultancy environment.
