The Social Housing Solicitor will join a department praised for its legal expertise and advocacy, handling a broad range of housing matters including homelessness, disrepair, eviction, succession, and possession claims. The Social Housing Solicitor's role

As a Social Housing Solicitor, you will report directly to the Department Director and be responsible for managing a varied caseload of public and private housing work. This will include legal aid and privately funded matters, with the opportunity to provide supervision and technical support to more junior staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Handling housing cases involving homelessness, disrepair, possession, and neighbour disputes.
  • Representing clients at all levels of court, including the Higher Courts.
  • Supervising and supporting trainees and caseworkers.
  • Conducting your own advocacy and participating in the Housing Court Duty Scheme.
  • Ensuring accurate time recording, file management, and compliance with legal standards.
