An established independent property and construction consultancy based in Colchester seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. The role offers high autonomy, managing schemes from inception through completion across education, residential, healthcare, commercial and public sector projects within Essex and the South East.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee commercial delivery of multiple projects in pre‑ and post‑contract stages.
  • Produce detailed cost plans, manage procurement processes and prepare tender documentation.
  • Provide strategic commercial advice throughout project lifecycles.
  • Lead client meetings and coordinate with contractors and consultants.
  • Ensure projects remain aligned with budget and programme expectations.
  • Administer contracts, predominantly under JCT forms, managing valuations, variations and final accounts.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years UK consultancy or contractor‑side experience across a range of construction sectors.
  • Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (preferred).
  • MRICS or APC progression viewed favourably.
  • Commercially astute, organised and proactive in project delivery.
