A highly respected property and fire safety consultancy is seeking a Senior Fire Risk Assessor to join its growing team in either Birmingham or Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced assessor with strong technical capability, particularly in evaluating complex buildings and high-rise residential or commercial properties.
As a Senior Fire Risk Assessor, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality fire risk assessments across a broad range of complex premises. Your role will include:
- Conducting comprehensive FRAs for complex buildings, high-rise structures and mixed-use developments
- Assessing cladding, external wall systems and passive fire protection measures
- Leading on higher-risk assessments, ensuring compliance with the Fire Safety Order and current legislation
- Providing clear, accurate reports with robust recommendations and risk mitigation strategies
- Advising clients on fire safety management, best practice and remediation priorities
- Supporting junior assessors with technical queries and contributing to team knowledge development
- Engaging with clients, stakeholders and project teams to ensure successful safety outcomes
- Maintaining high professional standards and upholding best practice in fire risk methodology
The Senior FRA Requirements:
- Minimum Tier 2 accreditation or Level 4 Fire Risk Assessment qualification
- IFSM Member
- Significant experience conducting Fire Risk Assessments on complex buildings and high-rise structures
- Strong understanding of the Fire Safety Act, PAS 9980, external wall assessments, and relevant legislation
- Experience evaluating fire doors, compartmentation, smoke control systems and PFP installations
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, defensible reports
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing skills
- A proactive approach to risk identification and problem solving
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required
