A well-established, privately owned consultancy of Fire Engineering specialists, Building Services Engineers, and Project Managers is seeking a Senior Fire Engineer to support the delivery of fire engineering projects across multiple offices. With a long-standing UK and international client base, their senior leadership remains actively involved in project delivery and technical excellence.
The Senior Fire Engineer's Role
The Senior Fire Engineer will manage the day-to-day delivery of fire engineering projects from inception through to completion, ensuring programme, scope, and client expectations are consistently met. Acting as a key point of contact, the Senior Fire Engineer will liaise with clients, design teams, contractors, and approving authorities while also undertaking site visits and providing construction-stage advice. Technically, the Senior Fire Engineer will produce fire strategy reports, marked-up drawings, and external wall assessments, alongside carrying out detailed analysis such as CFD and evacuation modelling using tools including FDS/PyroSim and Pathfinder. The Senior Fire Engineer will deliver clear, evidence-based solutions in line with Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991, and BS 7974.
The Senior Fire Engineer
The Senior Fire Engineer will support and mentor Graduate Fire Engineers, reviewing their work and contributing to internal quality assurance processes. Working closely with senior colleagues, the Senior Fire Engineer will ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across projects. They will also manage project budgets, resourcing, and documentation, while identifying opportunities for repeat business and supporting wider client relationships.
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural or similar)
- Postgraduate qualification in Fire Engineering
- Full IFE membership; working towards or holding CEng
- Minimum 4 years' UK fire engineering experience
