A leading global law firm with one of the largest international energy and infrastructure platforms is seeking a Projects Associate to join its highly regarded Oil & Gas team in London. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Projects Associate to work on complex, high-value and cross-border energy projects across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors. The successful Projects Associate will advise international energy companies, national oil companies, project sponsors, investors, lenders, contractors and government entities on major developments across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.

The Projects Associate will work as part of an international team advising on a broad range of oil and gas developments and energy infrastructure projects. Work is likely to include:

  • Upstream oil and gas developments
  • LNG projects and infrastructure
  • Pipeline and transportation projects
  • Joint operating agreements (JOAs)
  • Farm-in and farm-out arrangements
  • Production sharing contracts and concession agreements
  • EPC, EPCM and construction-related agreements
  • Gas sales and transportation agreements
  • Project development and commercial structuring
  • Cross-border energy transactions
  • Energy transition projects linked to traditional oil and gas infrastructure
  • Multi-jurisdictional project coordination

The Projects Associate will play an active role in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, managing transactions, coordinating international workstreams and supporting clients through major project developments.

This international practice is recognised as one of the most prominent advisers within the global energy sector. With a substantial presence across key energy markets worldwide, the firm acts for many of the world's leading energy companies, investors, financial institutions and government-backed entities. The projects team is regularly instructed on first-of-their-kind developments, major LNG projects, strategic infrastructure investments and complex cross-border transactions.

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • Between 3 and 5 years' PQE
  • Experience gained within a recognised projects, energy or infrastructure practice
  • Exposure to oil and gas projects and commercial agreements
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Experience working on cross-border transactions
  • Excellent academics and technical ability
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the energy sector
  • Confidence working directly with clients and international stakeholders
  • A collaborative and proactive approach

Candidates with experience advising on LNG, upstream developments, energy infrastructure projects or broader international energy transactions will be particularly well suited to this opportunity.
