A multi office law firm is seeking a Family Team Legal Secretary to join its expanding Family and Childcare team in Barnet. This Legal Secretary role provides dedicated support to fee earners across a varied family law caseload, assisting with client communication, document preparation and day-to-day team administration. The Legal Secretary will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of matters while gaining experience within a specialist family law environment.
The successful Legal Secretary will join an established multi service law firm with specialist teams across family law, criminal defence, housing, civil liberties and human rights. The firm provides structured training, ongoing support and a collaborative working environment focused on delivering accessible legal services to clients.
As the Family Team Legal Secretary you will provide secretarial and administrative support to the Family and Childcare team:
- Preparing documents using digital dictation and audio typing
- Managing electronic filing and maintaining accurate case records
- Handling telephone calls from clients, counsel, experts and third parties
- Managing diaries and appointments for fee earners
- Assisting clients and visitors attending the office
- Supporting CCMS legal aid applications and related administration
- Providing general administrative support to the Family team
You will have previous legal secretarial or administrative experience and an interest in family law.
The Family Team Legal Secretary must have:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or similar role
- Interest or experience within Family and Childcare law (desirable)
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Fast and accurate typing skills, including digital dictation

- 22,000 to 28,000 salary dependent on experience
