A well-established multidisciplinary construction consultancy in Leeds is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their growing team. The successful Senior Project Manager will work across a varied portfolio of projects throughout Yorkshire and the wider North, supporting major clients across a range of property and construction sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager who wants greater responsibility, strong client exposure and the chance to work on technically interesting schemes.
The Senior Project Manager will take ownership of projects from early feasibility and design through procurement, construction and handover. Working closely with clients, consultants and contractors, the Senior Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams while managing programme, risk, quality and stakeholder expectations. This position would suit a confident Senior Project Manager who enjoys a varied workload and is looking to progress within an established consultancy environment. You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.
The Senior Project Manager will lead projects through multiple RIBA stages, ensuring client objectives are understood and successfully delivered. Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and managing programmes
- Coordinating design teams
- Developing procurement strategies
- Overseeing risk and change control
- Chairing project meetings
- Providing clear reporting to clients
The Senior Project Manager will also support the commercial management of commissions and maintain strong relationships with clients and wider project teams. There will also be opportunities to mentor less experienced colleagues and contribute to the continued growth of the Leeds project management team.
The successful Senior Project Manager will ideally have:
- Significant Project Management experience within a UK construction consultancy
- Experience delivering projects through multiple RIBA stages
- A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying or another relevant construction discipline
- MRICS, MAPM or MCIOB qualification, or demonstrable progress towards chartership
- Strong knowledge of procurement routes and construction contracts
- Experience leading multidisciplinary consultant teams
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Strong programme, risk and project governance experience
- A commercially aware and organised approach to project delivery
