Building Regulations Principal Designer Leeds | £60,000 - £70,000 | Hybrid Working A well-established, multidisciplinary construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Building Regulations Principal Designer to join its expanding Building Safety team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Building Regulations Principal Designer looking to take ownership of their own projects within a consultancy that is investing in its Building Regulations compliance offering. The successful Building Regulations Principal Designer will work across a varied portfolio of new-build, refurbishment and retrofit projects, including residential developments, commercial buildings and Higher-Risk Buildings. The consultancy offers a collaborative working environment, with access to experienced Architects, Engineers and construction professionals, alongside opportunities to develop technically and progress within the business. The Building Regulations Principal Designer's Role The Building Regulations Principal Designer will be responsible for planning, managing and monitoring Building Regulations compliance throughout the design process. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide technical advice, undertake design reviews and ensure regulatory requirements are incorporated into the development of each project. Responsibilities include: Delivering Building Regulations Principal Designer services Reviewing architectural drawings and technical specifications Identifying non-compliance with Building Regulations and Approved Documents Advising clients on the Building Safety Act 2022 Supporting Higher-Risk Building projects and Gateway submissions Preparing Building Regulations compliance trackers Producing technical reports and design compliance documentation Attending client meetings and coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams Supporting projects through Building Regulations approval Building strong relationships with existing and prospective clients The Building Regulations Principal Designer The successful Building Regulations Principal Designer will ideally have: Experience in a Building Regulations Principal Designer or design compliance role A background in Architecture, Architectural Technology or Building Control Strong understanding of Building Regulations and Approved Documents Knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 Experience reviewing construction drawings and technical design information Experience working on residential, commercial or Higher-Risk Building projects Relevant qualifications in Architecture, Building Control or the built environment RIBA, CIAT, CABE or RICS membership advantageous Strong organisational and client-facing skills In Return? £60,000 - £70,000 Hybrid working 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Private healthcare Pension scheme Professional membership fees paid Ongoing CPD and professional development Varied project portfolio Opportunity to contribute to a growing specialist service Clear career progression opportunities If you are a Building Regulations Principal Designer considering your career opportunities, please contact Bex Ellinger at Brandon James on (phone number removed) for a confidential discussion.
