A well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Fire Protection Engineer to join their growing Leeds team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Fire Protection Engineer who is looking to develop their career across a broad range of commercial, residential, healthcare, education and mixed-use projects.

The successful Fire Protection Engineer will work closely with senior fire specialists, design teams, contractors and clients, supporting the delivery of robust fire protection strategies across both new-build and existing buildings.

The Fire Protection Engineer's Role

The Fire Protection Engineer will be responsible for reviewing fire protection designs, advising on active and passive fire protection measures, and ensuring projects comply with relevant legislation, standards and best practice. The role will include preparing technical reports, attending design meetings, carrying out site inspections, reviewing drawings and supporting clients with practical, commercially aware fire protection advice.

The Fire Protection Engineer

The successful Fire Protection Engineer will ideally have:

  • Experience working within fire protection, fire engineering, building services or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of active and passive fire protection systems
  • A relevant qualification in Fire Engineering, Building Services, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Understanding of UK fire safety legislation, Building Regulations and associated guidance
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with clients and design teams
  • A full UK driving licence would be beneficial
  • Membership, or working towards membership, of the IFE, CIBSE, IFSM or similar would be advantageous
