The Graduate Building Surveyor\’s Role
As a key member of the surveying team, the Graduate Building Surveyor will assist in providing reliable assessments and evaluations of buildings to ensure they meet all legal and safety standards. You will be involved in defect diagnosis, condition surveys, preparation of technical reports, and advising on maintenance and compliance matters. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a wide array of services including project management, contract administration, and planning applications, while working closely with Senior Surveyors, clients, and consultants. Regular site visits, client meetings, and internal team collaboration will form part of your day-to-day responsibilities.
The Successful Graduate Building Surveyor Will Have
- A degree in Building Surveying (RICS-accredited) or a closely related field
- On the APC pathway or intending to work towards chartership (MRICS)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative and professional approach to work
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities
- A genuine interest in building pathology and technical building advice
- Eager to engage in CPD and ongoing training
