A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a confident and technically strong FRAEW Assessor / Surveyor to join a highly respected, employee-owned, multidisciplinary consultancy. With significant growth in fire safety services and a strong pipeline of projects, the firm is seeking a driven and knowledgeable professional to focus primarily on the delivery of Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEWs).

The FRAEW Assessor / Surveyor\’s Role
The FRAEW Assessor / Surveyor will lead on the delivery of FRAEW assessments across a diverse portfolio of residential and mixed-use buildings, working closely with clients, design teams, and enforcing authorities. The role requires providing clear, compliant, and pragmatic advice on external wall systems in line with PAS 9980, focusing on genuine risk and proportionate remediation.
In addition to the delivery of FRAEWs, you will also support wider fire safety consultancy work while contributing to continuous team development and best practice.
The FRAEW Assessor / Surveyor
Minimum 1-2 years\’ proven experience delivering FRAEWs
Strong understanding of PAS 9980 and UK building regulations
NEBOSH Fire, FPA C05 or equivalent qualification required
Member of a recognised professional body (IFE, IFSM, etc.)
Sound knowledge of construction methods and materials, especially cladding and EWS
Able to confidently liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders
Able to take a risk-based, pragmatic approach to safety and cost
Excellent written communication and technical reporting skills
Comfortable with hybrid working and travelling to sites as needed (mostly London & surrounding area)In Return?
