A growing London law firm is seeking a Construction Solicitor to join its expanding Construction team in Farringdon. This is an excellent opportunity for a 2-4 PQE Solicitor to develop a broad construction practice with exposure to both contentious and non-contentious matters. Working closely with Partners and experienced fee earners, you will advise a diverse client base across construction, real estate, development and related commercial projects. The role offers significant responsibility, direct client contact and genuine opportunities for career progression.

The Construction Solicitor's Role

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction contracts, including JCT and NEC
  • Supporting construction due diligence for real estate, development and finance transactions
  • Drafting and reviewing collateral warranties, professional appointments, sub-contracts and ancillary documents
  • Advising on live construction projects, contractual interpretation and risk management
  • Supporting contentious matters including adjudication, arbitration, litigation and TCC proceedings
  • Conducting legal research and preparing commercially focused advice
  • Managing relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, lenders and other stakeholders
  • Working collaboratively with Real Estate, Real Estate Finance, Dispute Resolution and Corporate teams
  • Supporting business development, networking and client relationship activities
  • Taking ownership of matters and contributing to the continued growth of the Construction practice

The Construction Solicitor

  • 2-4 years' PQE in construction law preferred
  • Experience across contentious and/or non-contentious construction matters
  • Good understanding of standard form contracts, particularly JCT and NEC
  • FIDIC experience would be advantageous
  • Strong drafting, analytical and legal research skills
  • Excellent commercial awareness and technical legal knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team
