A leading London law firm is seeking an Associate to join its busy Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented solicitor to work closely with Partners and experienced lawyers on complex claimant matters, while developing their technical expertise and client relationships.
The successful Clinical Negligence & Personal Injury Associate will handle a varied caseload involving complex liability, causation and quantum issues, with exposure to high-value and challenging claims.
The Associate's Role
- Advising clients on complex claimant clinical negligence and personal injury claims
- Managing casework across liability, causation and quantum
- Working closely with Partners and senior lawyers on complex matters
- Preparing legal documents, correspondence and advice
- Conducting legal research and analysing evidence
- Managing cases in accordance with procedural and funding requirements
- Maintaining strong client relationships and providing high-quality client care
- Liaising with experts, counsel and other professionals involved in claims
- Contributing to case strategy and achieving strong outcomes for clients
- Supporting the wider department with business development activities
- Developing relationships with existing referrers and identifying new sources of work
- Contributing to the profile and growth of the department and wider firm
The Associate
- Qualified solicitor with experience in clinical negligence and/or claimant personal injury
- Strong experience across liability, causation and quantum
- Good understanding of relevant procedural and funding requirements
- Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and case management abilities
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- Commercially aware and proactive in developing relationships
- Able to work effectively as part of a team while taking ownership of matters
- Strong interest in business development and building a professional profile
- Organised and able to manage competing priorities effectively
