An employee-owned building control and regulatory compliance consultancy is seeking a Class 3H Registered Building Inspector to join their growing team in East London. The business works with several major companies across the UK and has secured long-term contracts covering a broad range of complex and higher-risk projects.
The Class 3H Registered Building Inspector will provide expert technical guidance, assess regulatory compliance and support projects through the building control process. The Role
- Managing building control applications for complex and higher-risk buildings.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, fire strategies and structural information.
- Assessing projects against the Building Regulations and relevant legislation.
- Undertaking inspections during design and construction.
- Preparing detailed technical reports and compliance records.
- Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and specialist consultants.
- Identifying non-compliance and providing practical technical solutions.
- Supporting applications involving the Building Safety Regulator.
- Mentoring less experienced inspectors and supporting technical development.
Required Experience
- Current registration with the Building Safety Regulator at Class 3H.
- Significant experience working on higher-risk or technically complex buildings.
- Strong knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations and Building Safety Act.
- A relevant qualification in building control, building surveying, construction or a related discipline.
- Membership of RICS, CABE, CIOB or another recognised professional body.
- Strong communication, report-writing and stakeholder-management skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
