An employee-owned building control and regulatory compliance consultancy is seeking a Class 2D Registered Building Inspector to support their growing workload across Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas. The business works with major organisations throughout the UK and holds long-term contracts across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. The successful Class 2D Registered Building Inspector will manage their own projects while receiving technical support from an experienced and collaborative team. The Role
- Managing building control applications from initial review through to completion.
- Assessing drawings, specifications and supporting technical information.
- Undertaking inspections of residential and commercial developments.
- Advising clients, architects and contractors on Building Regulations compliance.
- Preparing accurate inspection records, reports and regulatory documentation.
- Identifying areas of non-compliance and recommending practical solutions.
- Managing project programmes, workloads and client expectations.
- Working with internal specialists on complex or multidisciplinary projects.
- Supporting junior inspectors and contributing to technical development.
Required Experience
- Current registration with the Building Safety Regulator at Class 2D.
- Experience managing residential and commercial building control projects.
- Strong knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations and Building Safety Act.
- A relevant qualification in building control, building surveying, construction or a related discipline.
- Membership of CABE, RICS, CIOB or another recognised professional body.
- Strong report-writing, communication and client-management skills.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
