A leading multi-disciplinary construction consultancy are looking to add an Assistant Building Surveyor to their established team in London. The successful Assistant Building Surveyor will be joining a firm with a strong pipeline of repeat client work, structured APC support and a broad range of project and professional instructions. This is a role for an Assistant Building Surveyor who wants hands-on experience, regular site exposure and a clear route to progress within building surveying.

The successful Assistant Building Surveyor will support senior members of the team across a varied workload, gaining experience throughout the full project lifecycle. You will assist on a range of building surveying services across commercial and public sector portfolios, working closely with experienced surveyors while developing your technical knowledge and client-facing ability.

Duties of the Assistant Building Surveyor:
  • Assist with building surveying work in line with statutory requirements
  • Support senior surveyors acting as Contract Administrator
  • Assist with measured surveys, condition surveys and access audits
  • Contribute to design solutions and technical reports
  • Support party wall, dilapidations and related instructions
  • Monitor project financial performance using internal systems
  • Assist with client workloads and framework agreements
  • Support business development and help identify new project opportunities

The successful Assistant Building Surveyor will have a genuine interest in building surveying and be looking to build a career within a construction consultancy.

Requirements:
  • A BSc in Building Surveying, or be in the final year of study
  • The ability to produce clear and accurate reports
  • Working knowledge of Building Regulations and Planning legislation
  • Strong communication skills
  • A collaborative approach
  • Ambition to progress towards professional qualification
