A respected independent fire engineering consultancy is seeking a Fire Engineer to join their growing Birmingham office. This Fire Engineer position offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, healthcare and mixed-use developments throughout the Midlands.
The successful Fire Engineer will be joining an established team delivering fire strategies, regulatory compliance advice and performance-based fire engineering solutions for both new-build and existing buildings.
The Fire Engineer's Role
The Fire Engineer will support a wide range of projects from planning through to completion, producing fire strategies and providing technical fire engineering advice to clients, architects and design teams. The Fire Engineer will be involved in:
- Preparing fire strategy reports
- Undertaking fire engineering calculations
- Supporting Building Safety Act compliance
- Liaising with clients, contractors and design teams
- Assisting with planning and Gateway submissions
- Supporting junior team members where appropriate
The Fire Engineer
The successful Fire Engineer will ideally have:
- A degree in Fire Engineering or related discipline
- Experience within a fire engineering consultancy environment
- Knowledge of Approved Document B and UK fire legislation
- Strong report writing abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Working towards professional membership would be advantageous
