An established and respected fire safety consultancy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Fire Engineer to join their expanding Liverpool office. The successful Senior Fire Engineer will deliver advanced fire safety strategies across a range of sectors including residential, healthcare, education, and mixed-use developments. With flexible working and a supportive team culture, this consultancy offers long-term development and professional recognition.
The Senior Fire Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing fire safety strategies from early design through to handover. You'll also act as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and approval bodies, ensuring compliance and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development of performance-based and prescriptive fire strategies
- Reviewing technical drawings and fire modelling outputs
- Supporting junior engineers with training, QA, and technical guidance
- Conducting site visits and reporting on fire safety compliance
- Liaising with Building Control, fire authorities, and design teams
- Contributing to business development and technical delivery
The Senior Fire Engineer
- Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or related subject
- Minimum 5 years' UK consultancy experience
- Strong working knowledge of ADB, BS 9991/9999, and fire engineering design
- CFD/modelling experience (FDS, Pathfinder) desirable but not essential
- MIFireE or working towards IEng/CEng status
- Confident leading projects and communicating with stakeholders
- Based in or near Liverpool, with flexibility to travel locally
