Legal Assistant- Children's Law in Milton Keynes

Job Description A leading law firm is seeking a Family Paralegal to join its highly regarded Family department in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional to develop their experience within a busy and supportive team handling a broad range of family matters. The successful Family Paralegal will support solicitors across LAA-funded and private client matters, gaining hands-on exposure to case preparation, client contact, advocacy and court proceedings. The Family Paralegal's Role Assisting solicitors with a broad range of Family Law matters Supporting LAA-funded and private client cases Attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases Drafting correspondence, witness statements and other legal documents Preparing and managing Legal Aid funding applications Processing and reviewing evidence Attending conferences and court hearings Undertaking advocacy where appropriate Maintaining accurate case records and time costing Assisting with file reviews and implementing recommendations Ensuring compliance with firm procedures and file management requirements Liaising with clients and other parties throughout matters The Family Paralegal Law degree or equivalent legal qualification Previous experience within Family Law or a strong demonstrable interest in the area Good understanding of Family Law principles Strong academic background Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong client care skills and a sensitive, professional approach Excellent organisational and analytical abilities Ability to work independently and use initiative Strong attention to detail Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office Self-motivated, proactive and commercially aware Ability to work effectively within a team and manage competing priorities What's on Offer? ~£25,000 - £30,000 salary ~ Milton Keynes location ~ Supportive and experienced Family Law team ~ Excellent progression and development opportunities ~ Exposure to both private and Legal Aid funded matters ~ Opportunities to develop advocacy and client-facing experience ~ Support towards relevant legal qualifications and professional development This is an excellent opportunity for a Family Paralegal looking to build their career within a highly regarded law firm, gaining valuable hands-on experience across a varied Family Law caseload.
