A leading multi-disciplinary construction and property consultancy, with a strong track record in delivering commercial, healthcare, and education schemes, is currently seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team in Reading. This is a consultancy-side role, focused on providing commercial support across the full project lifecycle on mechanical and electrical (M&E) packages, including both new build and refurbishment projects. This highly respected firm operates nationally, working on high-value developments for both private and public sector clients.
The appointed M&E Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the commercial delivery of M&E elements across a range of projects. This includes developing cost plans, procurement advice, value engineering, and post-contract cost management. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams and end clients, ensuring that building services elements are delivered to budget and in line with programme expectations.

M&E Quantity Surveyor – Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed cost plans and M&E estimates during pre-construction phases
- Manage procurement of M&E packages and support tender analysis
- Administer contracts and manage change control processes
- Undertake monthly valuations and provide cost reporting to clients
- Liaise with MEP consultants, contractors, and project managers
- Advise on value engineering, risk, and lifecycle cost considerations
- Support delivery of projects from feasibility through to final account
- Minimum 4 years’ Quantity Surveying experience, ideally within a consultancy setting
- Proven experience managing M&E elements on construction projects
- Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts and cost management tools
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (RICS accredited)
- Working towards MRICS or similar professional status preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with attention to detail
