An established multidisciplinary construction consultancy is seeking an ambitious Commercial Director to spearhead the continued development of their Central London presence. Working across a broad range of sectors, this appointment offers an experienced Commercial Director the opportunity to take ownership of regional growth, strengthen existing relationships and create a high-performing London-based team. The successful Commercial Director will combine strong commercial leadership with a proven ability to generate new business.
Rather than stepping into a purely operational position, the Commercial Director will be given the platform to expand the consultancy’s profile across London, identify new opportunities and convert established industry relationships into long-term instructions. Alongside work winning, the Commercial Director will oversee key client commissions and ensure the consultancy continues to provide a high standard of commercial and cost management advice. As the London operation develops, the Commercial Director will also play a central role in recruitment, mentoring and building the team required to support future growth. This is particularly well suited to a commercially driven Commercial Director who has an established London network and wants genuine influence over the direction of an office rather than simply inheriting an existing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and delivering a growth strategy for the Central London office
- Winning new commissions across a diverse range of property and construction sectors
- Building relationships with developers, investors, occupiers and wider industry stakeholders
- Leading fee proposals, pitches and client presentations
- Providing senior commercial and cost consultancy advice on key projects
- Identifying new markets, clients and service opportunities
- Recruiting, managing and developing a growing London team
- Maintaining strong standards of client service and commercial performance
Candidate Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline
- MRICS qualified or equivalent professional standing
- Extensive UK cost consultancy or professional Quantity Surveying experience
- Proven business development and work-winning track record within the London market
- Established network of clients and industry contacts
- Strong commercial judgement with experience managing senior client relationships
- Previous leadership, recruitment and team development experience
- Entrepreneurial approach with the ability to build and grow a consultancy presence
In Return:
- £100,000 – £125,000 per annum
- Central London location
- Significant autonomy over the growth of the London office
- Opportunity to build and lead your own team
- Broad sector exposure and senior client responsibility
- Genuine influence over long-term business strategy
