A fast growing multidisciplinary consultancy based in London and Kent is seeking a Chartered Architect to transition into a Building Regulations Principal Designer. This is an excellent opportunity for an Architect with sound knowledge of Building Regulation, to transition into an industry that is paying far more than Architecture.
The successful Architect and Principal Designer will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act and associated regulations. This Building Regulations Principal Designer position offers clear career progression and the chance to work alongside other experienced individuals in securing Gateway approval.
You will receive support onto the RIBA Principal Design register as you extend your experience of specialising in Building Regulation Compliance assurance.
The Building Regulations Principal Designer's role
The Building Regulations Principal Designer will be responsible for managing and coordinating building safety compliance throughout the design phase. Acting as the Building Regulations Principal Designer, you will liaise with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure all statutory obligations are met. The Building Regulations Principal Designer will review design information, identify risks, and ensure projects adhere to current legislation, including the Building Safety Act and relevant Approved Documents.
The ideal Building Regulations Principal Designer will have:
- Sound knowledge of Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act
- Professional membership or working towards (RIBA or CIAT)
