A nationally recognised, top-tier law firm based in London is looking to appoint an experienced Immigration Solicitor to join its award-winning Immigration team. With one of the largest legal aid immigration practices in the UK, this firm is known for its outstanding commitment to client care, legal excellence, and support for career progression. Their team of dedicated immigration lawyers is consistently ranked in The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners for their work on complex asylum, human rights, and business immigration matters.
The successful Immigration Solicitor will be part of a dynamic department that includes over 160 specialist immigration lawyers nationwide. The team is particularly recognised for their expertise in high-profile and sensitive cases, including judicial reviews, appeals, detained matters, and immigration applications involving victims of trafficking, torture, and unaccompanied minors. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced immigration lawyer seeking to take the next step in a challenging but rewarding role.
The Immigration Solicitor’s role
As an Immigration Solicitor, you will manage a broad caseload involving both legal aid and privately funded work. You will prepare and present cases from initial application through to appeal stages, including matters before the First-tier and Upper Tribunal, and contribute to more complex judicial review proceedings. The role also involves Legal Aid Agency funding applications, client representation, court attendance, and drafting detailed legal documents and witness statements.
You will also be involved in mentoring junior staff and contributing to in-house training and business development initiatives, helping to promote the firm’s immigration services across the sector.
The Immigration Solicitor
To be considered for this Immigration Solicitor position, you will need:

A valid UK Practising Certificate

Law Society Immigration & Asylum Accreditation (desirable)

Minimum 3 years’ PQE in immigration law

Strong experience across the full range of immigration matters

Knowledge of publicly funded immigration work and the ability to handle private cases
