A specialist fire consultancy in Hertfordshire is looking for a Graduate Fire Engineer to join their growing team of 10 experienced Fire Engineers. The successful Graduate Fire Engineer will gain a wealth of experience in a variety of sectors, including offices, public entertainment venues, shopping centres, schools, universities, hospitals, hotels, and residential developments.
The Graduate Fire Engineer's Role
- Receiving full training and mentorship from senior engineers, gaining practical experience across a range of fire engineering disciplines.
- Assisting in the development of fire safety strategies for buildings.
- Supporting the design of smoke control systems.
- Learning Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling.
- Assisting with structural fire protection analyses.
- Understanding fire-resisting construction, compartmentation, and fire stopping.
- Conducting means of escape calculations.
The Successful Graduate Fire Engineer Will Have?
- Qualifications: A degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Ideally experience within a Graduate Fire Engineer role, for 6+ months (Not essential).
- Skills and Other: A keen interest in fire safety and fire engineering principles, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn from experienced professionals.
