An independent, multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a competent and ambitious Fire Engineer to join their growing fire safety division in Sheffield. The successful Fire Engineer will become part of a dynamic team delivering high-quality fire engineering solutions and safety strategies across residential, healthcare, commercial, and public sector projects. With a strong pipeline of work and full chartership support available, this consultancy offers a stable platform for career growth.
The Fire Engineer will be responsible for developing fire strategies, delivering technical fire advice, and supporting clients through the design and construction process. The role involves a mixture of office-based, remote, and site work throughout the region, with occasional national travel.
Day-to-day duties will include:
- Preparing fire safety reports
- Liaising with design and project teams
- Conducting inspections and audits
- Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and fire legislation
- Supporting the wider team with mentoring and technical development
Requirements:
- BEng/MEng in Fire Engineering or similar discipline
- 3+ years' ideally within a consultancy
- Good knowledge of ADB, BS 9991/9999, and Fire Safety Order
- Experience producing RIBA stage fire strategies
- Ideally working towards IEng or CEng with the IFE
- Comfortable managing clients and contributing to design meetings
- Based in or near Sheffield, with a full UK driving licence
