A forward-thinking fire engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to join their growing team. With a diverse project pipeline spanning commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and high-security developments, this is a rare opportunity for a Fire Engineer to work across a range of technically challenging schemes in a flexible, supportive environment.This consultancy, known for reshaping how compliance is delivered in the built environment, empowers their Fire Engineers with cutting-edge digital tools, strong internal technical leadership, and a culture committed to improving safety and well-being through accountable, risk-informed design. Whether leading major schemes or contributing to specialist project stages, as a Fire Engineer you will play a visible, valued role in shaping safer buildings and stronger client relationships.
The Fire Engineer\’s Role
- Develop performance-based fire strategies in line with ADB, BS 9999, BS 9991, and the Building Safety Act
- Produce clear, compliant fire strategy reports from concept through to completion
- Contribute to fire modelling and advanced calculations (CFD experience advantageous)
- Engage directly with clients, design teams, and authorities across all RIBA stages
- Conduct site inspections, reviews and risk assessments
- Support junior team members and technical development initiatives
The Fire Engineer
- Degree in Fire Engineering or closely related field
- 2-3+ years\’ experience in a UK fire consultancy or multidisciplinary environment
- Proven ability to deliver quality reports and client-facing technical advice
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety regulations and codes
- Progressing towards MIFireE or IEng / CEng status (or actively interested)
- Proactive and collaborative, with a clear, solution-focused mindset

- £45,000 – £60,000 base salary
