A growing multi-disciplinary Property & Construction Consultancy is now seeking a Building Surveyor to join their Building Surveying and Project Management team in Colchester. The building surveyor will work across a wide range of sectors including Commercial, Education, Residential, Defence and Healthcare projects. This building surveyor opportunity offers exposure to both professional and project-led surveying services within an established consultancy environment. The successful building surveyor will join an experienced surveying team and support the delivery of a broad range of building surveying instructions.
The successful Building Surveyor will be joining a well-established consultancy providing services across Building Surveying, Project Management, Architecture, Engineering and Quantity Surveying. The consultancy continues to expand its national presence and delivers projects across both public and private sector clients. This Building Surveyor position offers the opportunity to work on varied schemes across Commercial, Residential, Education, Defence and Community sectors as part of a collaborative and professional team.
As the Building Surveyor, you will support the delivery of both project and professional Building Surveying services across a varied client portfolio:
- Undertaking measured surveys and inspections of buildings across refurbishment, maintenance and new build projects
- Preparing project documentation including programmes, risk registers and specifications
- Assisting with design, specification writing and tender documentation
- Supporting contract administration duties and monitoring construction works
- Coordinating with internal and external consultants throughout project delivery
- Assisting with planning applications and Building Regulations submissions
- Chairing and minuting project progress meetings
- Reviewing contractor valuations and supporting payment authorisations
- Supporting the delivery of projects across Commercial, Residential, Healthcare, Defence and Education sectors
You will be a proactive and organised individual with a genuine interest in the built environment and Building Surveying profession:
- A degree in Building Surveying
- Experience within Building Surveying and Project Management environments
- Knowledge of contract administration and project delivery
- Experience producing specifications and tender documentation
- Understanding of Building Regulations and construction processes
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
- AutoCAD and NBS experience would be beneficial
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to project delivery
