Senior Clerk of Works

M4 Corridor
Hours: 35 hours per week
/n
We are working with a well-established, multidisciplinary built environment consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Clerk of Works to fulfil inspections on residential projects across the M4 Corridor - West Country
/n
Alongside managing your own projects, you will also support the development of junior colleagues and help maintain consistently high standards across the wider Clerk of Works service.
/n
Senior Clerk of Works Role/Responsibilities
/n
/n
- Undertake regular inspections of construction projects.
/n
- Monitor and report on project progress, quality and workmanship.
/n
- Produce high-quality professional reports supported by clear photographic evidence.
/n
- Verify that works comply with contractual drawings, employer's requirements, warranty standards and Building Regulations.
/n
- Identify and raise defects, discrepancies and quality concerns.
/n
- Take ownership of defect trackers within site visit reports.
/n
- Proactively obtain updates from site teams and ensure defect records remain accurate and current.
/n
- Manage and undertake snagging, de-snagging and end-of-defects-liability-period inspections.
/n
- Maintain project records in line with internal filing systems and quality assurance procedures.
/n
- Support junior colleagues with their professional and technical development.
/n
/n
Senior Clerk of Works Skills
/n
/n
- Strong experience inspecting residential new-build or refurbishment projects.
/n
- Excellent knowledge of building construction processes and workmanship standards.
/n
- Good knowledge of standard forms of construction contract, including JCT and NEC.
/n
- Membership of the ICWCI or the CIOB,
/n
- Experience using tablet-based inspection platforms such as Field View, PlanRadar or similar.
/n
- The ability to produce clear, detailed and technically accurate written reports.
/n
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.
/n
- Excellent organisation, time-management and deadline-management skills.
/n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and MS Project.
/n
- A full UK driving licence.
/n
