Procurement Manager

An established multidisciplinary built environment consultancy is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join their Birmingham-based team. Offering excellent flexibility, this hybrid position requires just 1-2 days per week in their Birmingham office, providing a strong balance between office collaboration and home working.
The Procurement Manager Role
The successful Procurement Manager will manage procurement activity from initial planning through to contract award, providing practical advice to colleagues and ensuring all activity is compliant, commercially sound and delivers value for money.
You will develop procurement strategies, prepare tender and contract documentation, manage framework agreements and other compliant routes to market, and support tender evaluation and contract award processes. The role will also involve maintaining procurement records, helping develop policies and guidance, managing commercial risk and contributing to the continued improvement of procurement governance.
You will work with a high degree of autonomy while building strong relationships with internal stakeholders across a diverse portfolio of services and projects.
The Procurement Manager
The successful candidate will ideally have:

Strong experience delivering public sector procurement exercises and contract awards

Good working knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023

Experience using framework agreements and other compliant procurement routes

Experience preparing procurement, tender and contract documentation

A recognised procurement qualification such as MCIPS, or equivalent relevant experience

Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills

The ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision

Construction, built environment or infrastructure procurement experience would be advantageous
