An established London main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The business has a strong track record across residential, care, commercial, education and healthcare projects, delivering both new-build and refurbishment schemes.
Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing the commercial performance of projects
- Procurement and tendering of subcontract packages
- Managing subcontractor accounts and valuations
- Preparing and agreeing variations
- Cost reporting and forecasting
- CVRs and monthly commercial reporting
- Managing project budgets and cost control
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts
- Working closely with site and project management teams
- Liaising with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
About You
- Experienced Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Main contracting experience is essential
- Strong experience managing subcontract packages
- Good knowledge of procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts
- Strong commercial and contractual understanding
- Experience across residential, refurbishment, commercial, education, healthcare or similar projects
- Confident dealing with clients, subcontractors and project teams
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline preferred
- JCT experience would be advantageous
