The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

This is a 6 month temporary position working full time, 40 hours per week. Working for us as our Driver / Service & Branch Assistant, you will be out and about for much of the day delivering, collecting, servicing and maintaining our equipment before returning to branch to support the wider team. This is a varied role that combines driving, customer service, equipment maintenance and operational support. Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all deliveries and collections as allocated to you by your line manager.
  • Give clear and confident demonstrations of equipment to customers when required.
  • Display professional customer service at all times whilst on site and whilst driving company vehicles.
  • Ensure all equipment is stored safely and correctly whilst in branch and during transportation.
  • Support the servicing and operation of seasonal events, ensuring equipment is delivered, maintained and collected to the highest standards.
  • Carry out the cleaning, servicing, inspection and routine maintenance of portable toilets and other seasonal hire equipment, ensuring all items are safe, compliant and ready for hire.
  • Undertake vehicle towing duties when required, ensuring all towing activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Safely load, unload and move equipment using forklift trucks where authorised and trained to do so.
  • Support the branch team with equipment preparation, housekeeping and operational activities as required.
  • Assist in any other ad hoc duties within the branch.
  • Assist with multidrop driving and provide a good knowledge of the local area.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally with customers.
  • An interest in machinery, tools and equipment, with a willingness to learn and develop your technical knowledge.
  • Comfortable carrying out cleaning, servicing and maintenance duties as part of a varied operational role.
  • Experience of towing trailers or a willingness to undertake towing responsibilities and any required training.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to supporting seasonal event work and changing customer requirements.
  • Flexible approach to working patterns, with the ability to support seasonal demand, event work and occasional changes to working hours when business needs require.
  • Current Forklift Truck (FLT) licence or previous forklift operating experience is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety.
  • Full UK driving licence essential.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to supporting colleagues and customers alike.
