The role

The Business Development Manager will execute business development activities across the Insights and Strategy arms of Branding Science Group and is responsible for driving new sales business to support the company’s financial performance and growth. The role plays a key part in the company’s commercial and strategic growth globally, working with the management team to raise Branding Science’s profile worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate partnerships with high potential brands and companies through integrated insight and strategic brand consultancy programmes for assets in Phase II/III transition or in‑market.
  • Plan and coordinate effective business development plans to create new client relationships globally.
  • Establish new client relationships in environments and networks not currently supported by the business.
  • Support the completion of Requests for Information for our client base.
  • Improve team effectiveness by using tools such as the CRM and other data sources to support planned revenue growth.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of our products and discuss relevant features with clients.
  • Provide market feedback to leadership regarding competitive offerings and prospect needs, and generate product development ideas.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the EU, US and Asia to ensure a unified approach to business development and client targeting.
  • Achieve full‑year absolute new business revenue targets and demonstrate year‑on‑year revenue growth.
  • Meet critical KPIs aligned with the group growth strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to innovate and improve business through local and group collaborations.
  • Lead or support business development initiatives such as sprints and marketing initiatives.

Essential Experience

  • Excellent business development experience in market research (preferably) or the healthcare industry.
  • Personal track record of initiating £1m+ of new business per year across multiple successive years.
  • Track record of establishing enduring client relationships.
  • Personal network within healthcare aligned with Branding Science’s client base.
  • A desire to work in a client‑focused, commercial environment.
  • A natural networker who can build client interactions and close business.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
  • High level of written communication skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Healthcare agency background to understand agency processes and drivers.
  • Demonstrated sustained growth in sales through a team.
