The Role - SEO Executive

You’ll be responsible for planning, implementing and refining SEO strategies that drive measurable growth. Working closely with digital, content and development colleagues, you’ll ensure best practice is applied across all areas of the website and digital activity. It’s a broad and hands-on role where you’ll combine technical expertise, creativity and analytics to help shape the future of the business’s online visibility.

Key Responsibilities – SEO Executive

  • Deliver on-page, off-page and technical SEO activity from keyword research and optimisation to audits and performance tracking.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to embed SEO best practice across all digital channels and campaigns.
  • Analyse performance using GA4, Search Console and SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs and Screaming Frog, identifying actions to improve results.
  • Manage link-building and digital PR outreach to increase visibility and authority.
  • Stay ahead of algorithm changes, AEO developments and AI search trends, feeding new ideas into the wider digital plan.
  • Produce insightful monthly reports highlighting performance, opportunities and future priorities.

Your Background – SEO Executive

  • 2–3 years’ hands-on SEO experience, either in-house or agency side.
  • Strong understanding of both technical and content SEO.
  • Confident using analytics and SEO tools including GA4, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs and Screaming Frog.
  • Naturally inquisitive, with a strong interest in AI search and the evolution of AEO.
  • Analytical, commercially minded and proactive in spotting opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong communicator who can work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify or Drupal) and basic HTML/CSS knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Self-motivated, organised and comfortable working remotely, with 1–2 days per month in the Saffron Walden office.
