We are seeking an ambitious, experienced and commercially minded International Logistics Manager to join our team. We are a global licensing specialist managing a seamless and collaborative process of designing, developing, selling and delivering quality products — all whilst championing the unique strengths and DNA of our brands.
The International Logistics Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the movement of goods across international borders, ensuring timely, efficient, and cost‑effective delivery for an apparel brand. This role requires expertise in global logistics, import/export regulations, vendor management, and strategic planning to enhance logistics processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including sourcing, production, finance, and distribution, to support the brand's growth in global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Global Logistics Operations Management
- Oversee the end‑to‑end logistics process for international shipments, including inbound and outbound movements, warehousing, and distribution.
- Manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, 3PL providers, and customs brokers to ensure timely delivery.
- Optimize transportation modes and routes to reduce transit time and cost while ensuring product quality and compliance with brand standards.
- Import/Export Compliance
- Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, import/export documentation, and customs requirements across all regions.
- Stay updated with changes in international trade policies, tariffs, duties, and import/export restrictions that may impact logistics operations.
- Manage and maintain accurate records and documentation for customs audits and regulatory compliance.
- Inventory & Warehouse Coordination
- Coordinate with warehousing partners to manage inventory levels and ensure seamless order fulfilment for international markets.
- Monitor and manage stock movements to prevent overstocking or stockouts, ensuring efficient flow from distribution centres to final destinations.
- Implement inventory tracking systems to provide visibility across the supply chain and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements with logistics service providers, aiming to maximize cost savings and service quality.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key logistics partners, ensuring performance KPIs are met.
- Resolve any logistical or operational issues that arise, liaising with internal stakeholders and external vendors as necessary.
- Cost Control & Budgeting
- Prepare and manage the international logistics budget, analysing costs and identifying areas for cost‑saving opportunities.
- Monitor and report on transportation and logistics costs to support financial forecasting and budgeting.
- Implement cost‑effective strategies and negotiate terms to achieve financial targets without compromising service levels.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the production, planning, sourcing, and retail teams to align logistics strategies with business goals and production timelines.
- Collaborate with customer service to manage shipping timelines, delays, and other inquiries related to international shipments.
- Support new market entries and product launches by establishing logistics processes and distribution strategies for each region.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize risks in the logistics operations.
- Establish and track KPIs for logistics performance, generating reports to present to senior management.
- Use data analytics to enhance supply chain visibility and predict demand, optimizing logistics processes to adapt to market needs.
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., APICS, CILT) are a plus.
- Skills
- Strong knowledge of international logistics, customs regulations, import/export procedures, and transportation management.
- Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data‑driven decisions.
- Languages
- Fluent in English; additional language always a plus.
