OVERVIEW
The Sports Analyst will support the development of Brand Finance’s sports consulting work, focusing on research, analysis, and insight generation across the global sports industry. The role centres on understanding how sports teams, leagues, events, and brands perform commercially and strategically, using data to inform decision‑making. The analyst will contribute to consulting engagements and industry publications by analysing sports business data related to areas such as brand strength, sponsorship, fan engagement, media rights, and financial performance. The role involves working with datasets, producing clear and compelling insights, and translating analysis into high‑quality reports, presentations, and thought leadership outputs. The successful candidate will also play an important role in shaping public communication of our sports team valuations and supporting new business development. This position provides an opportunity to work at the intersection of sport, finance, and brand strategy while developing analytical and consulting skills in a fast-growing sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on global sports teams, leagues, federations, events, and commercial partners.
- Analyse sports industry data across areas such as fan engagement, sponsorship, media rights, brand strength, and commercial performance.
- Support on business development including proposal writing and scoping.
- Support sports consulting projects by translating complex data into clear insights and strategic implications for clients, including basic financial modelling.
- Contribute to the development of industry reports, rankings, dashboards, and thought leadership relating to the global sports ecosystem.
- Work with large datasets in Excel and other tools to identify trends, benchmarks, and performance drivers.
- Prepare high-quality client presentations, internal briefings, and written outputs using PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
- Support strategic assignments related to sports strategy, sponsorship analytics, brand performance, and commercial evaluation.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams across valuation, research, consulting, communications, and strategy.

- Strong comfort with Excel for structured analysis.
- Familiarity with sponsorship, brand metrics, fan research, media rights, or sports industry data is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Power BI, data analytics tools such as Q, or research platforms.
