Brand Finance is a fast-growing, mid-sized consulting firm with the reputation, reach and client base typical of a large corporation. We work with the CEOs, CMOs and CFOs of many of the world’s leading companies, combining valuation modelling and brand data with strategic thinking to answer their big questions about brand direction, performance and value. Our mission is to bridge the gap between marketing and finance, by providing specialised advisory on the commercial value of brands as assets. Headquartered in the City of London, we have key satellite offices in Dubai, Colombo, and Singapore with a further 20 subsidiary and partner offices.
Our brand valuation methodology has become a global standard for benchmarking brand performance and our services are in high demand. In the last two years, we have worked with more than 300 of the largest and most well-known companies in the world. There are currently opportunities within our London valuation consulting practice for Senior Consultant and Consultant positions, suitable for candidates with 3+ years of professional experience.
As a Senior Consultant/Consultant in the Valuation team, you will support the delivery of brand, branded business and intangible asset valuation engagements from scoping through to client-ready outputs. You will combine rigorous financial modelling with interpretation of market research and other brand and business performance evidence, and you will help translate analysis into clear implications for senior client stakeholders. Working closely with Research, Strategy and Client Services colleagues, you will manage workstreams, guide junior analysts, and contribute to proposals and pitches. The role suits someone who can run multiple projects in parallel, maintain high quality standards under deadlines, and communicate confidently with CEOs, CMOs, CFOs and their teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver valuation outputs for multiple purposes (e.g., value-based brand management, strategic marketing decision support, financial reporting, tax, transactions and dispute/litigation support) and tailor analysis to audience needs.
- Build and maintain valuation models for brands, branded business and other intangible assets, including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Prepare and review key inputs to valuations, including revenue/earnings forecasts, growth assumptions, discount rates (WACC), royalty rate benchmarking, and tax/amortisation assumptions.
- Translate qualitative and market research/brand performance evidence into quantitative valuation assumptions, and clearly document rationale and sources.
- Run internal reviews of valuation work (model checks, logic/audit trails, and consistency of assumptions across deliverables) and address review comments efficiently.
- Draft clear, client-ready reports and slide decks, including executive summaries, methodology, key drivers, conclusions, and limitations.
- Manage day-to-day project delivery: work planning, timelines, team coordination, quality control, and ensuring outputs meet internal standards.
- Liaise with client stakeholders (finance, brand/marketing, strategy, legal) to clarify objectives, obtain data, challenge assumptions, and present findings.
- Support business development by contributing to proposals, credentials, pricing, and pitch materials; provide pragmatic scoping and effort estimates for valuation work.
- Coach and review junior team members’ analysis and modelling; provide feedback to build capability and improve consistency/quality.
- Contribute to improving valuation templates, model libraries, and knowledge materials; capture learnings from engagements and share best practice across teams.
Attributes, Experience and Qualification:
- Must have: Strong financial modelling skills (forecasting P&L and cash flow; NPV/DCF; scenario and sensitivity analysis) with a clear, auditable model build.
- Comfortable working directly with senior client stakeholders; able to explain valuation assumptions and outputs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong written communication: able to draft structured, client-ready reports and slides with a clear narrative and conclusions.
- Proactive and organised: able to manage priorities across multiple deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- Commercial judgement: able to combine quantitative analysis with market/brand context and articulate implications for business decisions.
- Professional qualification in one of the following (or equivalent): ACA, CA, CFA, CIMA, ACCA.
- Right to work in the UK and willingness to travel occasionally as required by client engagements.
- Desirable: Experience in brand valuation and/or intangible asset valuation (e.g., relief-from-royalty, MPEEM, purchase price allocation support).
- Experience with royalty rate benchmarking, discount rate estimation (WACC), and working with market/industry datasets.
- Comfortable planning and conducting research (primary and secondary) and synthesising findings into valuation assumptions.
- Data and analytics capability beyond Excel (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SPSS, R or Python) for cleaning, analysis, and visualisation.
- Demonstrated interest in branding and marketing (e.g., relevant coursework, certifications, or professional experience).
- Additional language skills and experience working across multiple geographies and cultures.
