We are looking for a bright, professional and enthusiastic individual with experience of working in an office environment. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, be able to work well with a team, and manage their own workload and time management.

The Business Systems Support Engineer I will report to the IT Support Manager in our ICT department. The role will require the candidate to support Business System issues at a 1st/2nd line level, which may include troubleshooting and issue resolution with a SQL Database environment. The role will cover a range of Business Systems including ERP, Ecommerce sites, Redemption sites, Finance Systems, Reporting Platforms, WMS and Shipping Software. The candidate may need to liaise with our supporting partners such as point-of-sale system providers, payment processors, and other partners as identified for existing and new deployments. This role will bring opportunities to get involved with other IT related projects. This is a hybrid office role, and the candidate should expect to be in the Manchester office a minimum of 3 days per week to support internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate must have a passion to learn and develop their skills further. Knowledge supporting ERP, WMS, and ecommerce systems is beneficial, and an understanding of TSQL query techniques to troubleshoot data will be useful. The candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. Knowledge of associated business systems (Finance, Tax, WMS etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting end-user issues on a variety of IT Business Systems with a primary focus on an ERP/Order Processing System, WMS platform and Ecommerce platform.
  • Supporting our customers with first line requests for our Magento ecommerce stores.
  • Raising support tickets with 3rd party vendors where appropriate.
  • Investigating ecommerce site issues raised by internal teams or clients, completing first-line troubleshooting and escalating technical defects where needed.
  • Clearly documenting system issues for feedback to the development team.
  • Supporting the ICT team with small to medium sized projects and helping to develop a yearly roll-out schedule.
  • Providing QA support for our ecommerce updates, new developments and configuration changes as needed.
  • Using TSQL to identify data issues and provide resolutions to issues.
  • Performing other business systems tasks related to the role for ongoing maintenance and operation of the systems.
  • Monitoring recurring issues, keeping accurate support records and contributing to process improvements and knowledge documentation.
  • Having knowledge and oversight of other associated business systems.

Must have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Experience supporting a variety of business systems including ERPs, Warehouse Management Systems and Ecommerce platforms.
  • Basic understanding of how e-commerce websites function, including categories, product data, promotions, user roles and order processes.
  • Experience working with databases; including good working knowledge of database design and relationships.
  • TSQL experience is desirable.

It would be useful if the candidate had experience with:

  • Experience working with cXML and Restful Web Services.
  • Experience supporting Magento 2 or a similar e-commerce platform in a B2B or B2C environment.
  • SQL Server Administration.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge/understanding of a quote to invoice process.
  • VAT System Knowledge.
  • Working Knowledge of Finance Systems.
  • Software QA, Troubleshooting experience.
