We are looking for a bright, professional, and enthusiastic Logistics Executive with experience in logistics and transport operations. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and commercial skills, be comfortable working cross-functionally, and be capable of managing their own workload and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The Logistics Executive will report into the Transport & Logistics function and will be responsible for supporting day-to-day logistics activity, ensuring shipments are planned, managed, and delivered efficiently. The role will also act as a key point of logistics knowledge within the business, supporting decision-making and operational testing. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, freight forwarders, and international teams across the UK, Europe, Asia, and the US to ensure transport solutions are compliant, commercially sound, and operationally effective.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-focused, and keen to develop their career within logistics, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitor daily shipment activity through logistics systems, ensuring timely updates and issue resolution.
- Coordinate transport bookings across international and domestic movements.
- Manage delivery exceptions and proactively resolve transport or service issues.
- Ensure all logistics documentation and systems are accurately maintained.
Compliance & Trade Knowledge
- Apply knowledge of Incoterms® to support correct movement planning and cost responsibility.
- Support accurate HS (commodity) code classification to ensure correct customs treatment.
- Ensure import documentation and processes meet customs and regulatory compliance requirements.
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Liaise with freight forwarders and logistics partners to ensure service requirements are met.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide logistics guidance and operational support.
- Collaborate with international teams to support global shipment activity and alignment.
Subject Matter Expertise & Business Support
- Act as the Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME) on internal panel tests and operational assessments.
- Support logistics input into new initiatives, changes, or operational testing.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives across logistics processes.
- Prepare ad-hoc operational data or analysis as required.
Ways of Working
- Manage and prioritise workload effectively, handling multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Hybrid role – the employee is required to be in the office at least 3 days per week.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Experience in logistics, transport, or supply chain coordination.
- Strong working knowledge of Incoterms®.
- Understanding of HS code classification and its impact on customs duties and clearance.
- Knowledge of import customs processes and compliance requirements.
- Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills.
- Commercial awareness with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to self-motivate, work under pressure, and demonstrate a proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Competent user of MS Office, particularly Excel.
Desirable
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
- Professional logistics qualification (e.g. CILT or similar).
- Experience working with international freight (road, sea, and/or air).
- Experience using logistics or transport management systems.
- Exposure to cross-regional or global logistics operations.
