Contract role for utility, rail and highways vegetation management. Sentinel + CSCS tickets essential. Project-based with flexible duration, regular work.
Our commercial side runs separate from the domestic crew – overhead-line vegetation management across the south-east (UK Power Networks patch), rail corridor clearance with Network Rail protection, and highways vegetation work under TM. Distinct skill set, distinct compliance paperwork, distinct rates.
This is a contract role – we bring people on for specific programmes and extend as the pipeline allows. Regular work, but not PAYE. You'd be invoicing as a sole trader or through a Ltd. If you've got the tickets and the appetite for corridor work, we'd like to talk.
Responsibilities
- Vegetation clearance alongside overhead lines (11kV-400kV) under DNO authorisation
- Trackside vegetation work in Red Zone possessions or Green Zone where permitted
- Highways vegetation within traffic-management windows – day or night
- Work to permits and method statements; brief in and out with site controller
- Maintain documentation pack (permits, photos, waste notes) for every shift
Requirements
- CSCS card (current)
- Sentinel card (current) with PTS
- NPTC CS30/31 chainsaw + NA quals for trackside chainsaw work
- COSS designation advantageous (or willingness to train)
- Full UK driving licence (manual); towing advantageous
- Own Ltd or sole-trader set-up + public liability cover
