Company & role: Leading European Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) software house seeks an experienced Trade Surveillance / Market Abuse specialised ETRM Senior Business Analyst to be based from the UK. This position can be based from anywhere in the UK, with occasional travel to their London office and occasional travel to meet EU clients.
The role will have you working on the company's Trade Surveillance / Market Abuse software, sat between business, clients, and technology delivery, with responsibility for understanding surveillance and transaction monitoring processes in energy and commodities markets and translating those needs into clear, accurate, and actionable requirements. The role requires a high degree of autonomy and judgement when working with stakeholders and delivery teams. Strong core BA capability and market understanding are essential, rather than deep technical expertise.
You’ll be joining an SME sized business, but an ETRM business with over 800 clients in Europe, who are hugely successful, hugely profitable and have established a niche ETRM solution to European gas & power trading clients. As such this role is ideal for a Senior Business Analyst who wants autonomy and responsibility but also be part of a growing and successful ETRM business.
Key skills & experience:
- The successful Senior Business Analyst will need several years experience working in ETRM (Gas & Power) either for another software house, consultancy or working for a client trading firm.
- You'll have a strong understanding of trade lifecycle and post-trade processes, with at least some experience working with market abuse, surveillance, or transaction monitoring platforms, including an understanding of alerting and investigation workflows.
- Strong core BA capability and market understanding are essential, rather than deep technical expertise.
- Familiarity with European energy market regulation (e.g. REMIT, EMIR, MAR, MiFID II) at a practical level.
- Exposure to data-driven platforms, analytics, or monitoring solutions.
