This global technology organisation is undergoing a significant transformation, led by an exceptional Chief Procurement Officer who is redefining procurement into a strategic, value-creating capability across the business. As part of this evolution, the organisation is investing heavily in AI-enabled solutions, digital platforms, enterprise software, and cloud technologies, and is seeking a charismatic IT Procurement expert to lead a newly created capability within its Technology Procurement function.
Buy-to-sell experience is not essential; however, candidates must demonstrate a strong procurement track record delivering value beyond cost savings, including risk mitigation, senior stakeholder engagement, and the development of strategic vendor partnerships, ideally within Software, SaaS, AI, and Cloud environments.
This Technology Procurement Lead will be responsible for:
- Shaping the future operating model and building procurement capability across Technology, Digital, Software, and AI categories within a global technology environment
- Establishing strong credibility with senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and ambassador for Technology Procurement
- Driving a pipeline of strategic sourcing activity aligned to enterprise-wide digital, AI, and technology transformation programmes
- Leading end-to-end sourcing for high-value, multi-million-pound software and AI-enabled application deals, from requirements definition through to negotiation, contract award, and supplier management
- Developing and managing strategic relationships with niche software, SaaS, AI, and cloud vendors to deliver innovation and long-term value
Required background:
- Proven track record in Procurement / Strategic Sourcing / Category Management, with demonstrable commercial impact (cost savings, risk mitigation, stakeholder engagement, and supplier strategy)
- Strong understanding of the IT Software, AI, and Technology vendor landscape (essential), ideally including SaaS, cloud, and AI-enabled digital applications
- Experience within a complex, global, matrixed technology organisation highly desirable
- Degree educated; MCIPS, ITIL or Prince2 qualifications advantageous but not essential
