European Energy Regulatory Compliance SME to join on an initial 6 month contract, based from anywhere in Europe .
The Role: European Energy Regulatory Compliance SME
Alongside their bespoke platform, my delivers regulatory advisory work for energy trading clients.
They seek a senior REMIT compliance contractor to support upcoming client engagements by assessing compliance arrangements, building practical action plans, and supporting implementation through to embedded processes and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess client compliance arrangements against REMIT II obligations and turn any findings into clear, prioritised action plans.
- Support implementation across the standard REMIT compliance domains, from regulatory reporting through to market conduct.
- Draft and review compliance policies, procedures, and guidance to a standard ready for client governance and regulatory scrutiny.
- Advise on trade surveillance arrangements and monitoring obligations.
- Contribute regulatory expertise to our surveillance platform as needed, covering detection logic and typology coverage.
- Run working sessions with client compliance, legal, and front office stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Senior regulatory compliance practitioner with genuine REMIT depth, gained inside or advising European energy trading firms.
- Generalist range across REMIT compliance; trade surveillance experience carries particular weight.
- Deep understanding of how ACER and national regulators apply the rules in practice, beyond the text.
- Able to run client sessions unsupervised and write to a client-ready standard in English.
